Cornwall - Oh! Just Got To Return

Hi,
My Name is Mickey.
I became interested in photography after being inspired by my brother Jay.
Jay has a real eye for what makes a brilliant photo. I love the work he does taking pictures of  people. I have tried to do this but fail miserably. I suppose that due to working with people and being around people constantly while at work I have very little interest in making people a subject matter and so move toward things which I really enjoy the most.
I love wildlife and countryside however appreciate that not every one does.
I have recently taken up photography and am still learning the rules about taking good photo's such as ensuring you take the lens cap off before you start shooting !!!!!
Last year my partner Chris and I went to Cornwall for the first time.
We have taken long haul flights previously to holiday and to see flora and fauna however we were not fully aware of what we have on our own doorstop in the U.K.
We decided on a driving holiday and we set off from London.
It took us a leisurely six hours to get there.
Both of us fell in love with Cornwall straight away and the people there were so friendly and helpful. We couldn't believe the things Cornwall had to offer and some of it was fairly inexpensive.
We decided before we went, not to book in anywhere for the 7 day trip and left it to chance to find  B & B's where we could.
We also ensured that in the event that we could not find somewhere we prepared ourselves by packing a small tent and some sleeping bags . (Looking back I don't think both of us would have fit in the tent but it didn't come to that thankfully.)
The photos you are about to see were taken on various trips out when we went to the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens Of Heligan, The Minack Theatre, the National Seal Sanctuary and a couple of other places.
On our trip to Cornwall it only rained twice: once for 3 days and then for 2 days. We were lucky on a couple of days to get some good weather.
The photos in the next blogs are divided into three categories 1) Flora, 2) Fauna and 3) Scenic.

1) Flora:
This was taken at the The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey (just down from St.Austell) one of the best botanical gardens in the UK

The Eden Project includes the world's largest greenhouse.
Inside the artificial biomes are plants that are collected from all around the world

These trees were growing in St.Ives.
You could tell that this side
of the tree pointed North and didn't
get much sea spray.

This was taken at Minack
The Minack Theatre is an open-air theatre,
The theatre is located near Porthcurno,
4 miles from Land's End

This giant bee was a feature at the Eden Project.
This is the third blog. These pictures were taken from the alredy mentioned places along with St.Michaels Mount, Land's End,St.Ives, Tintagel and others.

The days we spent at St.Ives and St.Michaels Mount were dreadful in regards to the weather. The landscape changed within seconds and constantly changed. At St.Ives we were literally within the cloud which descended over the town. It produced some weird coloured skies.

3) Scenic (and others)

Literally - Land's End

And again - Sunset at Land's End

The theatre was the brainchild of Rowena Cade, who lived at Minack House overlooking Porthcurno Bay. In 1929, a local village group of players had staged plays in a nearby meadow, repeating the production the next year. On next productions Miss Cade offered the garden of her house as a suitable location, as it was beside the sea. Miss Cade and her gardener made a terrace and rough seating, hauling materials down from the house or up via the winding path from the beach below.

Tintagel
- past the church was the sea -
just loved the wall which must
have been created centuries ago

Tintagel Island, adjacent to the village of Tintagel)
and known as King Arthurs country

St.Michaels Mount is a tidal island located 366 metres off the Mount's Bay coast. This is the Bay. Taken fairly early in the morning with a weather front moving in. View towards Penzance.

I took shots for about 20 minutes
